What is PsychBase Academy?
A course library in psychiatry and psychotherapy, written by practising clinicians. Each course works through one method in structured lessons, and each is paired with a roleplay lab where you practise that same method on an AI-simulated patient. The pairing is the point: reading about validation and doing validation are different skills.
Which courses can I take right now?
Motivational Interviewing, Socratic Questioning, Validation, Prolonged Exposure, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and Transference-Focused Psychotherapy. They range from about forty minutes to four hours of reading, and all six have a matching roleplay lab.
Who writes the courses?
Practising clinicians, named on each course. David Boardman, MD, psychiatrist, writes and reviews the psychotherapy courses; Motivational Interviewing is written by Benjamin Raki, physician, and Prolonged Exposure with Selma Roslund, licensed psychologist. Each course names its author on the course page and cites the literature it draws on.
What does it cost?
Five of the six courses are free to read with an account. Motivational Interviewing is sold on its own: its first lessons are free with an account, and the whole course is included in Pro or can be bought separately. The first lesson of every course is free to read without an account, and the price is shown on the course page before you pay anything.
Are the courses in Swedish?
The courses are written in English. The platform, the clinical tools and the roleplay labs are available in Swedish, and Swedish course translations are being added.
Do I need a login to look at the catalogue?
No. You can browse every course, read what it covers, how long it takes, who wrote it and which roleplay lab it pairs with, all without an account. The first lesson of every course is open to read without one; the rest of the course needs an account.
Do the courses give a certificate or CPD credit?
No. PsychBase does not issue certificates and the courses do not carry accredited CPD credit. They are professional education you work through at your own pace, with a roleplay lab attached so the method gets practised rather than only read.
Each course pairs with its own roleplay lab. Courses are written and reviewed by practising clinicians and cite the literature they draw on. The Academy supports clinical education; it does not give advice about any individual patient.
