Who can attend events on PsychBase?

Anyone can read the programme without an account. To book a place, mark yourself as interested or join a waiting list you need a free PsychBase account. The events are aimed at psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists and other clinicians, and a host can say on the event page who a particular event is for.

Are the events online or in person?

Accepted Answer

Both, and each event says which on its card and on its page. An online event held in PsychBase Live gets a room that opens 45 minutes before the start; the link appears on the event page and in your confirmation email as soon as you hold a place. An in-person event lists its venue and address, with a map.

What does it cost to attend?

Accepted Answer

That is up to the host and is stated on every event; many are free. Where there is a fee, the host takes the booking and the payment on their own page, and PsychBase shows you the way there. Browsing the programme and booking through PsychBase cost nothing.

Question 4

Can I host an event myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Any member can propose a seminar, a journal club, a workshop or a meetup from the Host an event button. You write it up — name, one-line summary, description, date, place and topics — PsychBase reads it through before it is published, and it then appears in the programme. It is free and takes about five minutes.

How do reminders and the meeting link work?

Everyone holding a place gets an email the day before. For an online event the link is shown on the event page as soon as you have booked, and the room itself opens 45 minutes before the start. The host gets a reminder of their own the day before.

Question 6

Can I cancel a place, or get one when an event is full?

Accepted Answer

Each event states its own cancellation terms next to the booking button: cancel any time, up to 24 or 48 hours before, or no cancellations. If an event is fully booked you can join the waiting list, and you are emailed when a place opens up.
